Housing
Sign Up for 2008-2009 has now ended.
Students
who participated in the Housing Sign Up process can check bannerweb for their
room assignment. Once Residential Life has made the assignment and inputted it
into the system, it will be reflected in the student’s bannerweb account.
Students
who did not participate in the Housing Sign Up process but want to live on
campus for the 2008-2009 academic year should complete the online University
Housing Agreement. Students will be housed based on space availability and when
the department receives their online University Housing Agreement.
Wait List
Information:
UVA and Res Hall A Wait Lists
Students interested in living in the University Village
Apartments or Res Hall A, but are not able to find a space during the Housing
Sign Up process, may request their name be placed on the appropriate wait list,
as long as they meet eligibility requirements. The Department of Residential
Life and Fraternity & Sorority Affairs will maintain two separate lists,
one for the University Village Apartments and one for Res Hall A starting March
27, 2008 until the first day students are allowed to move in during August
2008. After this date, these wait lists will no longer exist. Given the high
demand and design of the bedrooms, students who request their name be added to
one of these lists will be listed as individuals, no pairs or groups will be
allowed. Names will be arranged according to earned credit hours. In the event
of a tie, the next thing considered is the number of semesters that the student
has lived on campus. In the event of a tie and for students living on campus
for the first time, the next thing considered will be the date the enrollment
deposit was received by the office of Admissions. If you are offered a space,
you will have 24 hours to accept or decline the offer. If accepted, you will be
taken out of your Fall 2008 housing assignment and placed in the offered room
assignment. If declined, your name will be taken off the appropriate wait list
and you will remain in your Fall 2008 housing assignment.
Traditional Residence Hall Wait Lists
Students not able to find a particular space they are interested
in during the Housing Sign Up process, may request their name be placed on the
wait list of the hall they are interested in, as long as they meet eligibility
requirements. The Department of Residential Life and Fraternity & Sorority
Affairs will maintain wait lists, for each residence hall starting April 3,
2008 until the first day students are allowed to move in during August 2008.
After this date, these wait lists will no longer exist. Students who request
their name be added to one of these lists will be listed as individuals, no
pairs or groups will be allowed. Names will be arranged according to earned
credit hours. In the event of a tie, the next thing considered is the number of
semesters that the student has lived on campus. In the event of a tie and for
students living on campus for the first time, the next thing considered will be
the date the enrollment deposit was received by the office of Admissions. If
you are offered a space in the requested building, you will have 24 hours to
accept or decline the offer. If accepted, you will be taken out of your Fall
2008 housing assignment and placed in the offered assignment. If declined, your
name will be taken off the appropriate wait list and you will remain in your
Fall 2008 housing assignment.
