Lynn Hall FAQ

Each floor features six Community Pod-Style Bathrooms, designed to balance privacy with accessibility and convenience. Each pod is a fully enclosed, lockable room that includes a toilet, vanity, and full shower, offering students a private and secure space. Two of the pods on each floor are fully ADA-accessible to ensure inclusive use for all residents.

Just outside the pod bathrooms is an enclosed common area with two additional vanities and sinks. This area is open for use at any time, but is not lockable, making it a convenient space for quick routines like washing hands, brushing teeth, or getting ready alongside peers.

This hybrid layout provides the privacy of individual bathrooms while still offering the efficiency and community feel of shared facilities.

As a part of the Stetson residential community, we have compiled a recommended packing list of items we suggest you bring and those that you leave at home. This list is not meant to be all-inclusive, but instead to give you a good idea as to what is and isn't allowed. The list is divided into different areas to help you consider all the items you may want to bring with you. We encourage you to speak with your roommate, prior to moving in, about what each of you can bring to the room due to space and economic considerations. Learn more about our residential policies in our current student website's policy section.

Stetson University has a centralized, full-service post office. All undergraduate students who live on campus are automatically assigned a campus mailbox with a specific unit number. John B. Stetson / 421 N. Woodland Blvd. / Unit #### / DeLand, FL 32723. The #### is your four-digit mailbox/unit number. To avoid delays, make sure to put the mailbox number on all incoming mail and packages.

We recognize that some residential environments and configurations may not be completely accessible to all students. Students who are seeking additional consideration in the housing assignment process or reasonable requests for modifications to their housing assignment must submit a Request for ADA/Accommodation. Learn more about our ADA accommodations process!

Most incoming students are assigned to a shared bedroom, either with access to a nearby community bathroom or a suite-style bathroom. This means you will most likely live in one of the following residence halls: Carson, Chaudoin, Conrad, Hollis, Lynn, Nemec, or Emily. (Incoming new students approved for animal‑friendly housing will be assigned to University Hall.)

This housing model is intentionally designed to help new students meet a wide range of peers, build friendships, and feel connected to the campus community early on. While living with a roommate, especially someone you may not know yet, can feel challenging at first, it is also one of the most impactful parts of the college experience.

Each residential floor is supported by a Resident Assistant (RA) who is trained to help roommates establish shared expectations, navigate differences, and address concerns that may arise during the year. RAs are a key resource and are there to support students both academically and personally.

We encourage students to view shared living as a meaningful opportunity for personal growth, communication skill-building, and self-discovery, all within a supportive and engaging residential community.

All full-time undergraduate students are automatically enrolled in a meal plan each academic year. This ensures every student has access to convenient, healthy dining options from day one. Depending on a student’s classification and residential location, there are different meal plan options available to each student. Meal plan selections roll over from Fall to Spring, learn more by visiting Dine on Campus at Stetson University.

You can swipe your plan and use a meal at the Lynn Commons for an all-you-care-to-eat meal or for a meal exchange in any of our retail locations - HatterStrEats, Einstein's Brothers Bagels, and the Coffeeshop. Learn more about each meal plan option!
