Office of the President

Christopher Roellke

Welcome to Stetson University, where we challenge and support our students to go beyond success – and to lead lives of significance.

Founded in 1883, Stetson has long provided an academically rigorous education in a creative community where learning and values meet, fostering in students the qualities of mind and heart that prepare them to reach their full potential as informed citizens of local communities and the world. Personal and social responsibility are central to our values, as are intellectual development, personal growth and global citizenship – all demonstrated in our commitment to a wide range of initiatives.

Our university enrolls nearly 4,000 students on our three Florida campuses - in DeLand, Tampa and Gulfport. Stetson draws students from nearly 50 states and 50 countries, and offers study in the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Law, School of Business Administration, and School of Music.

Guiding this growth, our strategic plan builds on Stetson's dynamic history but remains forward-thinking: focusing on innovation, academic excellence, recruiting the best students for Stetson, intensive community engagement, a robust Student Success program, campus infrastructure improvements, and being a great place to work.

With a low student-faculty ratio that encourages collaboration, our students engage in intensive, interactive projects in our classrooms, courtrooms and in the field – working side-by-side with outstanding faculty. From our law school to our graduate programs and our undergraduate curriculum, Stetson students benefit from an education that blends theory and practice, and that champions critical thinking, personal growth, leadership development and communication skills. They immerse themselves in the practical aspects of their area of study, perform at festivals, conduct and present research, and engage in academic competitions.

Our students contribute to a vibrant campus atmosphere enhanced by student organizations, club sports, Greek life and NCAA Division I Athletics, including the return of Hatter Football in fall 2013. At our College of Law, community members devote thousands of hours to pro bono service. Our graduates become Stetson alumni who enrich their communities across the globe.

I invite you to explore the Stetson University website to learn more about the university and our endeavors, and to reach out to us – we are happy to connect with you!

Sincerely,

Christopher Roellke, PhD
