Jason Evans

Jason Evans

Executive Director

Jason is a landscape ecologist who earned his PhD in interdisciplinary ecology from the University of Florida. His work focuses on the interfaces between human and natural systems, involving academic, public, and private collaborations for climate change adaptation, stormwater management, and water quality improvement. In his free time, Jason enjoys cultivating his yard in native plants for local pollinators.

Laboratory Manager

Andrew earned his BS in Biology and Marine Science at the University of Georgia and his MS in Oceanography at the University of Delaware. Presently, he serves as a laboratory manager for both the Institute for Water and Environmental Resilience and the Department of Environmental Science and Studies. Alongside his regular duties, Andrew supervises undergraduate research assistants and interns with water quality, landscape management, and environmental research projects.

Megan Brinton

Megan Brinton

Resilient Green Infrastructure Communications Coordinator

Originally from Sarasota, Florida, Megan moved to Volusia County in 2017. Building on a background in environmental education, she has been working on water quality, sustainability, and community resilience initiatives since. After earning her Associate of Arts Degree in 2021 from Daytona State College, she transferred to Stetson to acquire her Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science. Currently, Megan is the Green Infrastructure Communications Coordinator at Stetson’s Institute for Water and Environmental Resilience, and is a West Volusia Audubon Society board member. In her free time, she enjoys visiting nearby parks with her family, searching for migratory birds, and harvesting from fruit trees in her yard.

Growing up in Orlando, Florida, Casey moved to DeLand in 2019 to attend Stetson University. Following interests in ecology, geology, and geography, Casey earned her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies in 2023 from Stetson. All throughout college, she worked in youth outreach and environmental education. Now, Casey is the Program Coordinator at Stetson’s Institute for Water and Environmental Resilience. Off-campus, Casey enjoys camping, swimming in local springs, and reading while curled up with her cat.
