Vincent C. Brenner, Ph.D., CPA
Dr. Brenner is the David M. Beights Professor of Accounting at Stetson University. He received his MBA and Ph.D. from the Pennsylvania State University. He has been active in research and has published over seventy five papers in various journals such as The Accounting Review, The Journal of Accounting Research, The Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, The Journal of Accountancy, Strategic Finance, etc. In 2009 he received the Homer and Dolly Hand Research Award from Stetson University. Dr. Brenner has published textbooks in financial accounting and intermediate accounting. He has also been very active in professional organizations such as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Accounting Association, Institute of Management Accountants, and the Institute of Internal Auditors. He previously served on the AICPA's Board of Examiners and was one of three nationally to serve as a Subject Matter Expert in Financial Accounting and Reporting, which he did for a period of eight years. He was awarded Outstanding Accounting Educator of the Year by both the Louisiana Society of CPAs and the Florida Institute of CPAs. He also received the Leon Radde Award from the Institute of Internal Auditors which is an international award for Educator of the Year. Dr. Brenner received teaching awards at Virginia Tech (a university wide award) and Louisiana State University. He has served as an expert witness in both State and Federal courts and as a consultant with a variety of international corporations such as Mobil, Exxon, Amoco, Ethyl, BASF, etc.
