Stetson Cove was built in 1974 and opened as a residential facility for Stetson University in 2012. The apartments are a university-owned and operated, on-campus apartment complex that is located a twelve-minute walk or a five-minute bicycle ride from the heart of campus. Stetson Cove offers 11 one-bedroom or 32 two-bedroom furnished apartments. The complex offers all the conveniences and amenities one would expect from on-campus housing, such as centralized laundry facilities, internet access, a courtyard with tables, a grill, and a fenced animal recreation area providing an independent adult living environment.

Students who live on campus have greater opportunities to become involved not only in student organizations across campus but with their residence hall and the people living with them. There is evidence showing that students living on campus have higher academic achievement, stay in school until graduation at higher rates, and are generally more satisfied with their college experience. Recognizing this evidence, Stetson University requires all undergraduate students with less than 90 earned credit hours to live on campus. There are some exceptions to this requirement and this information is outlined in the Residency Exemption.

As a part of the Stetson residential community, we have compiled a recommended packing list of items we suggest you bring and those that you leave at home. This list is not meant to be all-inclusive, but instead to give you a good idea as to what is and isn't allowed. The list is divided into different areas to help you consider all the items you may want to bring with you. We encourage you to speak with your roommate, prior to moving in, about what each of you can bring to the room due to space and economic considerations. Stetson University has a centralized, full-service post office. All undergraduate students who live on campus are automatically assigned a campus mailbox with a specific unit number. John B. Stetson / 421 N. Woodland Blvd. / Unit #### / DeLand, FL 32723. The #### is your four-digit mailbox/unit number. To avoid delays, make sure to put the mailbox number on all incoming mail and packages.
Students must complete the Request for Animal-in-Residence Application on Housing Central. Continuing students must select animal-friendly housing options during the standard room self-selection process. This application will require the student to attach a photo, proof of one-year ownership, veterinary vaccination records, and answer several questions in relation to their ability to care for an animal while living on campus. If approved, the student will receive written notification to their stetson email and a displayable animal tag once they arrive on campus. Students looking to request accommodations for an emotional support animal (ESA), must complete the Request for Animal-in-Residence application and are required to additionally, upload a completed ESA Health Provider form. Meal Plans are required for residential first-year and sophomore students. Juniors and seniors may choose to participate in the meal plan program. Juniors and seniors wanting to participate in a meal plan should sign up for one each semester. You can swipe your plan and use a meal at the Lynn Commons for an all-you-care-to-eat meal or for a meal exchange in any of our retail locations - HatterStrEats, Einstein's Brothers Bagels, and the Coffeeshop. Learn more about each option!
