Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society
Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) is the international counseling academic and professional honor society dedicated to promoting excellence in the profession of counseling. Through scholarship, leadership, advocacy, service, and professional development, CSI supports the growth of counselors-in-training and practicing professionals committed to wellness, human dignity, and meaningful community impact.
At Stetson University, the Alpha Omicron chapter of CSI provides students with opportunities to strengthen professional identity, build leadership skills, engage in service and advocacy initiatives, and connect with peers and faculty within the counseling profession.
Our Mission
Promoting Excellence in Counseling
Chi Sigma Iota’s mission is to promote scholarship, research, professionalism, leadership, advocacy, and excellence in counseling while recognizing high levels of academic and clinical achievement among counseling students and professionals.
The Alpha Omicron chapter seeks to foster a supportive and engaged counseling community grounded in connection, collaboration, wellness, and professional growth.
What We Do
CSI members participate in a variety of professional, leadership, and community-building experiences, including:
- Professional development workshops
- Community engagement and service initiatives
- Networking and mentorship opportunities
- Wellness and social events
- Leadership experiences within the chapter
- Advocacy and counselor identity initiatives
- Conference and scholarly engagement opportunities
Membership Eligibility
Students may be invited to join Chi Sigma Iota after:
- Completing at least six graduate credit hours, and
- Maintaining a minimum 3.5 GPA
Eligible students typically receive invitations during the Fall and Spring semesters, followed by an initiation ceremony welcoming new members into the Alpha Omicron chapter.
Membership includes:
- Lifetime international CSI membership
- Access to professional resources and networking opportunities
- Leadership and service involvement opportunities
- Connection to an international community of counseling professionals
Membership dues:
- CSI International dues: $50
- Alpha Omicron local chapter dues: $15 (one-time fee)
