Continuing Student Housing Application

Application At-A-Glance

Continuing students completing the Housing Application will be asked for some demographic information for our records and in case it is needed, life-habit information for roommate matching, your building preferences, and roommate preference (if you have one), and also includes the completion of the housing agreement.

Application Available

Continuing student housing applications are available on February 1 on the home page of Housing Central.

Priority Deadline

Students should complete their applications no later than April 1 if they wish to participate in the Housing Self-Selection for Continuing Students which is held in April.

Eligibility to participate in Housing Self-Selection for the upcoming academic year will be based on Stetson's 3-Year Residency Requirement.

  • Students required to live on campus under Stetson's 3-Year Residency Requirement that submit the Housing Application by the Priority Deadline will be automatically entered into the Housing Self-Selection for Continuing Students taking place in April.

  • Students that have satisfied the 3-year residency requirement and are no longer required to live on campus that submit the Housing Application by the Priority Deadline will be entered into a lottery to participate in Housing Self-Selection for Continuing Students taking place in April. A random selection process will allow 100 students not required to live on campus to participate in Housing Self-Selection.

Late Applications

All continuing students that submit the Housing Application after the Priority Deadline of April 1 will be provided a housing assignment by Residential Living and Learning through the manual assignment process. Housing assignments are provided to students in priority order by Housing Applications submission date and earned credit hours and are based on housing preferences selected in the Housing Application, roommate groups, and space available in campus housing.

Assignments

Students eligible to participate in Housing Self-Selection for Continuing Students will receive detailed information and instructions for participating in Housing Self-Selection taking place in April. During this process, students will be able to browse available rooms on campus and assign themselves and their preferred roommate (as space allows) to campus housing.

Students not eligible to participate in Housing Self-Selection for Continuing Students will be assigned a space on campus by Residential Living & Learning after Room Selection ends.  These assignments will be provided to students over the course of the summer months as space on campus becomes available.  We are committed to housing all students that request to live on campus.

Residential Living & Learning offers supplemental applications in addition to the Housing Application. After submitting the Housing Application, students may submit a Request for Special/ADA Accommodation and/or Request for Animal-in-Residence. Those students who wish to participate in a Residential Learning Program may submit an application on Housing Central.  Students who are seeking an exemption to the university residency requirement in order to live off-campus should submit the Request for Residency Exemption.
