FMHCA is an organization dedicated exclusively to serving Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs) and related professions in the state of Florida. For over 40 years, FMHCA has advanced the profession of clinical mental health counseling through advocacy, networking, professional development, legislative efforts, public education, and the promotion of positive mental health for Florida's communities. The organization provides education, resources, and opportunities that empower mental health professionals statewide to grow professionally and strengthen the counseling field.

The 2026 FMHCA Annual Conference was held February 5th- February 7th in Lake Mary, FL. The topics for student research posters ranged from internet gaming disorder, trauma, adolescent mental health and more. The students’ conference posters emerged from an assignment in one of Dr. Timothy Eng’s courses in the Fall 2025 semester, and Dr. Eng encouraged the students to continue their scholarly work by submitting their work to the FMHCA conference.

The Department of Counselor Education is proud of our students' commitment to advancing the counseling profession and representing our department and Stetson University.
