Eng, Visiting Assistant Professor of Counselor Education at Stetson University and 2024 Fulbright Specialist Award recipient, recently shared his scholarship on two prominent stages: one international and one national.
In October, Eng delivered an invited presentation at Trnava University’s International Counseling Conference in Bratislava, Slovakia, titled “The Science of Support: Measurable Impact of Counseling in the U.S.” The session highlighted the evidence-based effectiveness of counseling in the United States and current trends shaping the field nationally and in Florida. As counseling continues to gain professional recognition in Slovakia, Eng’s presentation fostered dialogue about advancing counselor education and mental health services across global contexts.
At the 2025 Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES) Conference in Philadelphia, Eng presented a poster titled “Wellness and Resilience: Predictors of Imposter Syndrome in First-Generation Counselor Education.” His research examined how academic resilience and perceived wellness relate to imposter syndrome among first-generation graduate counseling students. Findings from a survey of 172 students revealed that while academic resilience was not significantly linked to imposter syndrome, overall wellness, particularly emotional wellness, was a key predictor.
Together, Eng’s national and international presentations reflect his ongoing commitment to research and collaboration that strengthens the counseling profession and supports the well-being of students and practitioners alike.
