LaValle Creative Arts Scholarship
The LaValle Scholarship is awarded to students like you who are devoted and disciplined in the creative arts, such as Studio Art, Digital Arts, Museum and Curatorial Studies or Theatre Arts. As a LaValle Scholar-Artist, you will be someone who has a real passion for developing your talent in a liberal arts setting. Your application will need to show that you have the potential to interpret the world around you and express that interpretation through your chosen art form. This scholarship covers full tuition and is available to first-year and transfer students.
You can only apply for one discipline, which should be the major you intend to pursue. Depending on your area of study, you will need to submit the following:
- Studio Art: Artist Statement and Portfolio
- Digital Arts: Artist Statement and Portfolio
- Museum and Curatorial Studies: Writing Sample (Research Style Paper OR Art Criticism Essay
- Theatre Arts: Artist Statement and Portfolio (for design) OR an audition recording (for performance)
Portfolios should include three to five examples of finished work, and Artist Statements should be 1-2 pages long. Artist Statements should also include an impact statement, reflecting on how receiving the LaValle Creative Arts Scholarship would support your ability to pursue your artistic, creative, and educational goals. All application materials must be submitted electronically.
Applying for the Scholarship
To access the LaValle Creative Arts Scholarship application, you must first apply to Stetson University and then an option to apply for the program will appear within your Hatter Portal.
The LaValle Creative Arts Scholarship application, artist statement and portfolio deadline is December 1.
