Gender-Based Misconduct, Sexual Assault and Intimate Partner Violence Reporting Form

When filling out the Report It form for Title IX situations, please use the Type of Report drop-down menu to select either gender-based or sexual misconduct either by the student, faculty/staff or by a third party not affiliated with Stetson.

The purpose of the Bias Education and Support Team at Stetson University is to provide students with an opportunity to receive education, support and appropriate resolution in response to bias-related incidents.

Bias-related incidents are defined as threats or acts of harassment or intimidation, whether verbal, written or physical, which are directed against Stetson University student(s) because of that student's age, color, ability, marital status, national or ethnic origin, political affiliation, race, religion, sex (including pregnancy), socioeconomic status, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, veteran status, family medical or genetic makeup or information, intellectual perspective, criminal background and potentially other identities or identifiers.

BEST provides impacted parties opportunities to be heard and supported and creates space for parties to process, gain understanding and plan responses to the situation. BEST also educates and informs the community as appropriate. Although we hope all parties find value in the space created for exploration and dialogue, all parties' participation in the BEST process is optional. If a member of the BEST team identifies a situation in which there is a possible violation of the Stetson University Code of Community Standards or the law, the information will be transferred to the Office of Community Standards, the Title IX office, and/or law enforcement for investigation and possible adjudication. The Bias Education Support Team is not a disciplinary process and does not function in lieu of any disciplinary or complaint processes within or outside of the University.

if you believe that serious violations of policies or standards have occurred and you do not feel comfortable speaking directly with a member of your management or leadership team, you can use this service, hosted by a third-party provider, EthicsPoint.

This reporting tool is not intended for use when normal work-related disagreements arise, such as disagreements with work schedules, leave approvals, work assignments, performance evaluations, co-worked disagreements, general working conditions and so forth. Rather, this hotline is intended to report matters of serious departure from business norms or legal requirements, both of which would have serious consequences to Stetson University as a whole.

For such serious violations, such as fraud, embezzlement or violations of administrative, academic and/or research integrity, you can submit a report to the ethics hotline. EthicsPoint will send information submitted by you to Stetson University on a confidential basis.

Visit the Stetson Ethics Point web page.

Faculty, staff and students should use the Honor System in dealing with apparent breaches of academic integrity in their classes. While some members of the faculty may prefer to handle matters (especially minor matters) internally, the resulting lack of central reporting would allow a student to cheat in several classes without any repercussions for multiple offenses. Students are strongly encouraged, though not required, to report any violations of which they are aware.

Violations include but aren't limited to: Giving unauthorized help to another student for a test or assignment, Plagiarism, using falsified evidence or material, submitting the same paper in different classes twice, destroying or making inaccessible academic resource material

Reports to the honor council are only received by the Honor Council advisor, Cindy Bennington and Honor Council members. To report a violation to the Honor System Council, use the Academic Honesty Reporting form.

Stetson University values an environment free of discrimination and harassment and therefore prohibits conduct that prevents open academic interaction and opportunity, or that creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive study, residential or work environment. In conjunction with this philosophy, Stetson University complies with Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504) and the university's own academic standards to ensure that there will be no discrimination on the basis of disability. Due to these laws and university values, no qualified individual with a disability shall be denied access to or participation in services, programs and activities offered at Stetson University.

Individuals with disabilities who believe that they have been denied "reasonable accommodations" for their documented disability, been excluded from participation in or been denied the benefits of any aspect of Stetson University, or otherwise have been subjected to discrimination on the basis of their disability should complete this form.
