Community Advocate Scholarship

If you're excited about creating inclusive and vibrant communities, this program is for you. The Community Advocate (CA) Scholarship offers $1,000 annually ($500 per semester) to students who want to make a difference in their residence hall and develop their leadership skills.

Stetson University's Residential Living and Learning offers a unique opportunity for emerging leaders like you to get involved in a residential learning program. These residential learning programs are designed to enhance your college experience by combining both living and learning in a supportive community. As a participant, you will live with other students in a residence hall and work together to build connections, focusing on personal growth through academic partnerships, service projects, research and special programming.

To qualify for the scholarship, you must:

  • Have a 3.5 GPA in high school (for first-year applicants) or a 3.0 GPA if you're already at Stetson University or another university.
  • Be enrolled full-time (4 units or 16 credit hours).
  • Commit around 5 hours per week to residential learning program activities, like collaborating with Resident Assistants, other CAs and faculty to organize events, offer educational opportunities, or engage in community-building efforts.
  • Value educational interactions both in and out of the classroom.
  • Show leadership potential.
  • While it is not required, you may choose to live in a themed community like First Year Experience, Women’s Leadership or Living Well.

This scholarship is a great way to enhance your college experience and grow as a leader while making a real impact on campus. For questions about Community Advocate Scholarship please email Jessica Day, Associate Director of Residential Education and Community Programs, at [email protected].
