Fall 2022 Concerts Announcements
Christmas Candlelight Concerts
For more than 100 years, the School of Music’s jubilant choirs and musicians have been captivating audiences with its annual, breathtaking performance, which has evolved into an evening dedicated to inclusive, sacred music from various cultural and religious traditions celebrated during the holidays.
The 2022 Christmas Candlelight Concerts will showcase more than 150 student musicians including the Stetson University Concert Choir (SATB), and Hatter Choir (TTBB) conducted by Dr. Timothy Peter, and the Stetson Chorale (SSAA) conducted by Dr. Sandra Peter as well as instrumentalists from the Chamber Orchestra and Symphonic Band. Dr. Boyd Jones will be the featured organist. The musical repertoire for 2022 continues a tradition inclusivity and a welcoming spirit with the warmth of beautifully Lee Chapel (Nov. 30-Dec.1) and the grand and magnificent First United Methodist Church in Orlando (Sat. Dec. 3). As each annual concert concludes, “Silent Night” will sung by multiple choirs as they light candles and close the performance.
Performances will run nightly November 30-December 3, 2022; advanced tickets required. Ticket sales go live October 1, 2022, online only. General Admission tickets are $40 each. This concert will be recorded; a release of the recording will become available on the School of Music YouTube page at a later date.
