Sub-Group: Peer Coach

Description: Academic Success currently employs peer leader roles in Peer Success Coaching. These roles specialize in one-on-one and/or group mentoring support in coursework, test preparation and study review sessions for students. Support sessions are designed to help students achieve maximum academic potential, gain confidence in learning and understanding content, and becoming self-aware of strengths, values, interests and passions during their time at Stetson.

Sub-Group: Peer Mentors

Description: The Resident Assistant (RA) is responsible for a community in one of the Residential Living and Learning operated buildings on the Deland campus of Stetson University. Reporting to a Residential Life Coordinator (RLC), the RA has several areas of responsibilities: community & student development, general administration, social justice, maintenance and facility administration, and to the staff team. Through daily interactions with residents, it is the RA's responsibility to create a safe and secure environment that supports the educational mission of the university and personal development of students. RAs employed by Stetson University need to have a strong understanding of what it means to live in, take part in and cultivate a strong community atmosphere within their specific residence hall assignment.

Description: The SOAR Council is a small group of student leaders who plan and facilitate outdoor adventures for their peers. These trips can be either overnight or day trips. They work alongside their advisor to create a different type of challenging, excited and adventurous opportunities for the Stetson community.

Description: Student Ambassadors are responsible for coordinating and staffing all Admissions events held at Stetson University. The emphasis of a Student Ambassador is meeting and greeting all prospective students and their families/guardians during their visit to campus. Ambassadors also help facilitate answers to all their questions about Stetson University from the student perspective, and this experience is vital in the recruitment process.

Description: The Student Support Foundation – Stetson University (SSF) is a donor-funded, student-led organization sponsored by the Morgridge Family Foundation. SSF provides immediate financial relief to Stetson students suffering from critical personal, professional, or educational hardship through this generous collaboration. Alongside its student-facilitated philanthropic leadership, SSF engages with the Stetson community through sustainable volunteer events and fundraising opportunities each semester.

The group meets monthly (at a minimum) to plan and implement community services events, student-athlete events, as well as provide pertinent information from the NCAA that can/will affect their collegiate experience.

Description: This position serves as a representative of Stetson University and, specifically, the enrollment and transitions program; to serve as a leader, mentor and role model for incoming and other prospective students and their families through direct involvement with the Office of Admissions and cooperative involvement with other student-centered offices. Additionally, this position serves as an extra dose of vibrancy and helpfulness in guiding new student transitions. Responsibilities include providing daily tours, assisting with Summer Orientation, specialized outreach (phone, email, text), and staffing the front desk of the Rinker Welcome Center.

Description: The WELL Team (Wellness Educators for Life-long Learning) are Stetson University's premier peer education group, educating students on healthy lifestyles and strong decision-making skills. WELL Team members are trained and certified peer educators through the BACCHUS Network, volunteering their time to actively promote healthy behaviors to fellow students. Health topics include healthy relationships, alcohol and other drugs, sexual health, sexual assault prevention, nutrition, exercise, stress management and sleep management. Through fun, interactive and educational programs the WELL Team strives to educate students on critical components to lead to a successful college experience.

Description: WISE Leaders will serve as knowledgeable guide, role model, and advocate for incoming first-year students throughout their first year at Stetson. Leaders will be thoughtful facilitators who provide access to people and resources. They will assist in the planning and execution of all WISE events and programming, focusing on social justice and community building. The WISE Leaders' main responsibilities include: Providing assistance and direction to incoming first-year students Supporting and encouraging students to maintain good academic standing and participate in institutional activities Encouraging team building and leadership development among WISE Leaders Identifying and implementing specific networking activities among WISE Leaders and Scholars Provide support and resources to help students adjust academically and socially to the campus community A thoughtful facilitator who provides access to people and resources A role model and advocate

Description: WORLD Ambassadors work together to create campus events for all DeLand students as well as specific events for international students. As peer leaders, WORLD Ambassadors are expected to determine what kinds of events students want and the types of information is needed for the campus body. WORLD Ambassadors also act as buddies for the new international students arriving on campus at the start of each semester.
