Academic Advising

The advising team will continue to serve students with supplemental advising services through a virtual platform including Microsoft Teams, phone appointments, as well as prompt email responses. For advising and registration questions student should first contact their assigned faculty advisor. Advisor contact information including email can be found on the top portion of the student’s degree audit page on MyStetson.

Students are also welcome to contact the advising team at academic.advising@stetson.edu for advising support questions, advising labs, registration dates, holds on account, as well as any other concerns. All students, including Discovery students, are welcome to schedule advising appointments with members of the advising team via the SSC platform through MyStetson. They can select any available day and time for a personalized 30-minute advising session. In the comment portion of the SSC meeting request students can indicate if they wish to be contacted via Teams video chat or via phone. Students can visit the Current Student Resources website for additional resources.

Instructions to schedule an appointment through SSC: Access the Stetson SSC from the Student Life tab on my.stetson.edu. Log on, click the blue "Get Assistance" button on the top right-hand side, select "Academic Services," then "Academic Success." Choose the option that best fits your needs from the drop-down menu. Select a day and time that best works for you.

Accessibility 

Accessibility Services will remain available and continue to service our students. We have communicated with faculty regarding specific accommodations to help with the transition to online and hybrid learning for the duration of the Fall 2020 semester.

If you have any questions or concerns about the implementation of your accommodations, please contact asc@stetson.edu. Our professional staff will continue to meet with students via phone or video chat. We will continue to hold meetings scheduled with Stetson SSC.

Tutoring and SPI

Tutoring services will continue to be available to all students via Microsoft Teams beginning August 17. SPI sessions will be available to all students via Microsoft Teams and Blackboard Collaborate beginning August 17.

All subjects will remain available and students can join their respective “team” where virtual sessions will be hosted at the regular listed times. You can access Microsoft Teams by going to the Microsoft 365 website and signing in with your Stetson email and Password. You can also download the desktop app and sign in the same way. If students have difficulty searching for their session, please contact cgrasley@stetson.edu or your respective tutor or SPI directly.

Success Coaching

Success Coaching will continue to be available to all students via over the phone sessions, or over video chat on Microsoft Teams. Students can make appointments through Stetson SSC by pressing the blue “Get Assistance” button, emailing studentsuccess@stetson.edu, or calling the Hollis Family Student Success Center at (386)-822-7345.

Athletics

Student Athlete Academic Services will continue serving students using virtual platforms such as Microsoft Teams, phone appointments, as well as email responses within 24-48 business hours. For advising and registration questions, student athletes will follow the instructions under the advising section.

Student athlete tutoring services will continue availability to all students via Microsoft Teams. All subjects will remain available and students can join their respective “team” where virtual sessions will be hosted at listed times. If students have difficulty searching for their session or further questions about tutoring, please contact saacademics@stetson.edu or Jeremiah Nails, jnails@stetson.edu.
