Premier Scholarships and Programs
Stetson University's Premier Scholarships and Programs are our most competitive opportunities for incoming students, offering distinctive academic experiences and significant scholarship support to those who stand out.
These opportunities fall into two groups. Premier Programs, such as the Honors Program and the Bonner Program, give you a distinctive academic path and community. Premier Scholarships, several of which award full or substantial tuition support, recognize exceptional talent in areas including the creative arts, the humanities and creative writing. You may apply to more than one.
To be considered, first submit your application to Stetson University, then complete your Premier application through your Hatter Portal. The deadline for all Premier Scholarship and Program applications is December 1.
The Bonner Program supports students who lead community transformation and advocate for social justice through long-term service internships. As a Bonner student, you intern with a local nonprofit partner across four years, align that service with your academic and career goals, and can be paid for your internship and professional development hours through student employment. Need-based financial aid is available.
The Honors Program is where the most curious, creative and ambitious students at Stetson University meet to pursue limitless intellectual exploration. You take small, Honors-dedicated courses that sharpen your critical thinking, and you can design a Self-Defined Major that combines disciplines into a path built around your goals. A Discovery Stipend funds independent projects and research, and enhanced advising connects you to internships, grants and a lifelong professional network.
The J. Ollie Edmunds Distinguished Scholarship is Stetson University's most prestigious award, a nationally competitive scholarship covering full tuition and fees, on-campus room and board, and a summer stipend for an internship or study abroad. It is awarded to students who combine superior academic achievement with proven leadership, character and integrity.
The LaValle Creative Arts Scholarship is a full scholarship awarded to devoted and disciplined students majoring in a Creative Arts discipline, including Studio Art, Art History, Digital Arts or Theatre Arts. You will demonstrate a passion for honing your talent in a liberal arts setting and the potential to interpret the world through your art. Application materials vary by discipline and may include a portfolio, artist statement, writing sample or audition.
The Lawson Scholarship is an annual award for academically strong students majoring in philosophy or a related humanities field who are committed to community service and making a positive impact. Selected students demonstrate strong academic achievement in high school, and a short essay is required with the application.
The Sullivan Creative Writing Scholarship is an annual award for undergraduate students with strong writing skills, with preference given to English majors or English Creative Writing minors who show real strength in creative writing. The application requires an essay responding to the question "Why Write?"
