Incoming Exchange - Application Requirements
Application Process
Students must first be nominated by their home university and then are able to submit an online application.
The application requires students to submit:
- A copy of a transcript in English
- Proof of English proficiency, if applicable
After acceptance, students will be asked to submit:
- A copy of the photo page of the passport
- Financial information needed to create forms for J-1 student visa application
- Travel Information
English Proficiency
All exchange applicants who do not come from an English-speaking country or who have not attended an English-speaking school for at least three years must provide proof of English proficiency. Proof of English proficiency may be supplied by any one of the following methods:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
- ELS Intensive English 112 Program
- Duolingo English Test
- TOEFL Essentials
Test scores must be uploaded into the student’s application. Minimum acceptable scores are equivalent to 79 (TOEFL), 9 (TOEFL Essentials), 6.0 (IELTS), and 95 (Duolingo English Test).
