Top Hatter Leadership Awards
Each year, Stetson University hosts the Top Hatter Leadership Awards Celebration to commemorate the leadership and accomplishments of students, faculty, staff, student organizations and Peer Leader groups throughout the campus community. This event celebrates the past year, the impact our community has made and the future ahead.
Nominate today for the 2025 Top Hatter Leadership Awards. The online nomination form is live and is due on Monday, April 6, 2026at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Advisor of the Year – Student Organization
Who can nominate
- Nominations for this category can be submitted by faculty, staff or students.
Description
- Awarded to one advisor of a student organization at Stetson University who demonstrates outstanding commitment and dedication to the advising and advancement of the student organization that they advise. This advisor has excelled at supporting the mission of the student organization and is continuously engaged in the organization's activities and development.
Criteria
- The recipient must be a full-time or part-time faculty or staff person.
- The organization that this faculty or staff member advises must be currently registered as a student organization with Stetson University and in good standing with Student Development and Campus Vibrancy, as well as the Office of Community Standards.
- The recipient supports the mission of the student organization they advise and is continuously engaged in its activities and development.
- Recipients can only be awarded this award once within the last year.

- Nominations for this category can be submitted by faculty, staff, or students.
Description
- This award is presented to a student organization that has demonstrated excellence in leadership, programming, and overall impact on campus. The organization shows strong engagement, innovation, and a commitment to its mission and members. Its efforts have positively contributed to the Stetson community and enriched student life.
Criteria
- The student organization that receives this award must be a registered student organization (RSO) with Stetson University and in good standing with Student Development & Campus Vibrancy, as well as the Office of Community Standards.
- Has not previously received this award within the last year.
Who can nominate
- Nominations for this category can be submitted by faculty, staff, or students.
Description
- This award honors a department-based organization that has shown outstanding achievement in advancing its academic or professional
- mission. The organization demonstrates strong collaboration, programming, and engagement within its field and across campus. Its contributions have enhanced both student involvement and departmental impact.
Criteria
- The Department Organization that receives this award must be recognized as a Department Organization with Stetson University and in good standing with Campus Life and Student Success.
- Recipients of this award will demonstrate how their work throughout the year directly connections to the goals of the Department Organization, how the group demonstrated outstanding leadership when leading their peers in the campus community, and how the group has left a lasting impact on the community throughout this academic year.
- Recipients of this award will have gone above and beyond to support their peers in the Stetson community throughout this academic year.
- Has not previously received this award within the last year.

- This award recognizes a student organization program that exemplifies creativity, planning, and meaningful engagement. The program demonstrates a clear purpose and successfully meets the needs of its
- intended audience. Its impact is evident through strong participation and lasting contributions to the campus community.
Criteria
- The student organization that receives this award must be currently registered as a student organization with Stetson University and in good standing with Student Development & Campus Vibrancy, as well as the Office of Community Standards.
- The program must have had open access to all Stetson students and geared toward students
- Has enriched the academic and/or co-curricular lives of Stetson University students through the development and facilitation of the program.
- Individuals may nominate programs that were completed between this academic year.
- Has not previously received this award within the last year.

Description
- This award honors a program hosted by a department organization that demonstrates excellence in execution, relevance, and impact. The program aligns with the department’s goals while engaging students in meaningful ways. Its success reflects thoughtful planning and a commitment to enriching the campus experience.

- The Department Organization that receives this award must be recognized as a Department Organization with Stetson University and in good standing with Campus Life and Student Success.
- The program must have had open access to all Stetson students and geared toward students.
- Has enriched the academic and/or co-curricular lives of Stetson University students through the development and facilitation of the program.
- Individuals may nominate programs that were completed this academic year.
- Has not previously received this award within the last year.

The recipient effectively leads their organization, supports member development, and drives initiatives that strengthen the group’s impact. Their leadership has made a significant contribution to student life at Stetson.

- The student organization that this student leads must be currently registered as a student organization with Stetson University and in good standing with Student Development & Campus Vibrancy, as well as the Office of Community Standards.
- The recipient of this award must have demonstrated outstanding leadership in their role as president (or equivalent) of a student organization where they have gone above and beyond to support the mission of their organization within this academic year.

- This award recognizes a department organization president who has shown outstanding leadership within their academic or professional community. - Possess characteristics for future leadership success.

Who can nominate
- Nominations for awards in this category can be submitted by faculty or staff. Students cannot make nominations in this category.
Description
- Awarded to one graduating student that has positively impacted others through their skills as a leader by making a lasting impact on the Stetson community that will continue to support others after their graduation. The recipient demonstrates sustained commitment, mentorship, and the ability to create positive change over time.
Criteria
- Graduating in spring or fall of the year the award is received.
- Has positively impacted other through their skills as a leader by making a lasting impact on the Stetson community.
Who can nominate
- Nominations for awards in this category can be submitted by faculty, staff, or students.
Description
- Awarded to one outstanding Stetson student that has demonstrated vibrancy throughout their leadership. This award is given to a student who has facilitated action within the Stetson community, has embodied Stetson spirit in their choices and leadership and has inspired passion in their fellow Hatters.
Criteria
- Demonstrates vibrancy as a student leader through action, spirit and passion.
