Become a Partner
The Center for Community Engagement (CCE) partners with nonprofit and community-based organizations to support meaningful, mutually beneficial experiential learning opportunities for students. The following outlines the process for organizations interested in becoming a Community Partner.
Step 1: Introduce your organization
Organizations interested in partnering with CCE should begin by emailing the CCE team with a brief introduction. This message should include:
- An overview of your organization and mission
- The type of work you do in the community
- Your interest in partnering with students through experiential learning
This initial outreach helps us understand your goals and determine alignment with our programs. Emails should be sent to [email protected].
Step 2: Subscribe to the Community Partner Newsletter
Partners are encouraged to sign up for the CCE Community Partner Newsletter, which releases monthly. The newsletter is the primary way we share:
- Partner development and training opportunities
- Important timelines and deadlines
- Updates related to internships, service-learning, and campus initiatives
Step 3: Submit an Engagement Opportunity (If Applicable)
Organizations seeking to request service work from students should submit their engagement opporunity here. You will be asked to provide the following information:
- Organization information (e.g., organization name, address, point of contact)
- Type of service requested (e.g., direct client service, capacity-building project)
- Qualifications/preparations required for the service (e.g., background checks, reliable transporation)
While the CCE cannot guarantee a student response, we will share the service request in our weekly digest to students.
Step 4: Meet with the CCE Team
After receiving your introduction or internship submission, a member of the CCE team will reach out to schedule a meeting. During this conversation, we will:
- Learn more about your organization’s needs and capacity
- Review the services and support CCE offers Community Partners
- Discuss how the engagement opporunity aligns with our experiential learning frameworks, including capacity-building and educational objectives
This step ensures that engagement opportunities are structured in a way that supports both student learning and organizational sustainability.
Step 5: Engage in Partner Development Opportunities
Community Partners are strongly encouraged to attend CCE Partner Development events, such as workshops, trainings, and networking sessions. These opportunities are designed to:
- Build nonprofit capacity
- Support effective student supervision and mentorship
- Strengthen campus–community relationships
Ongoing engagement helps ensure successful, long-term partnerships.
