Students in need of ordering regalia can do so on the Stetson University Bookstore website. Regalia currently being held from the postponed May 2020 commencement may be picked up at the Stetson University Bookstore beginning on Tuesday, Dec. 1.
Please contact the Stetson University Bookstore if you wish to request regalia be returned for a full refund. Refunds will be issued by Oak Hall.
Regalia in original condition and packaging that was originally shipped directly to students may be returned to Oak Hall for a full refund if students determine they are unable to participate in the ceremony. Freight charges will not be refunded.
Master's gowns have oblong sleeves open at the wrists. Gowns consist of a black gown, a black cap, a tassel with a custom Stetson University medallion and a hood. Hoods are lined in silk with the official color of the degree you are receiving.
In order to maintain the necessary physical distance between participants, graduates will be asked to arrive at graduate check-in wearing their hood. There will be no formal ‘hooding’ during the ceremony.
Bachelors' gowns have long-pointed sleeves. Bachelors' regalia consists of a dark green gown, a dark green cap and a tassel with a custom Stetson University medallion.
Students who have earned a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 are presented with university honor cords of green and white. The honor cords will be distributed at the Hollis Center, Rinker Fieldhouse prior to the Commencement ceremonies.
Students will receive these accessories directly from the faculty sponsor of their organization. Additional groups outside of the official honor societies will need to submit a formal request to the Office of the Provost for approval at email@example.com. Requests should include a description of the academic honorary society, including membership requirements, and an image of the requested accessory. Current policy states that requests for academic accessories (cords, pins, and medallions) will be considered from academic honor societies only. Requests from non-academic groups for an academic accessory will not be approved.
Students are permitted to wear additional non-academic accessories (pins and stoles) that are officially-sanctioned by the university. Students will receive these accessories directly from the appropriate sponsor of the association, organization, club, or group. Societies, clubs, and groups seeking approval for a non-academic accessory will need to submit a formal request to the Vice President for Campus Life and Student Success. Final approval will be made jointly by the senior officers for CLaSS and Academic Affairs. Requests should include a description of the association, organization, club, or group, including any membership requirements, a statement expressing how membership or participation in the group matches the official mission and/or stated values of Stetson University, and an image of the requested accessory. Requests from organizations, clubs, and groups whose primary purpose is social, or whose work is not connected with the mission and/or values of the university, will not be approved.
