Graduate and Undergraduate Commencement Ceremonies

The final ceremony schedule will be announced following the results of our Commencement Participation Form. The information graduates provided will help determine the number of graduates able to attend each in-person ceremony. The deadline to submit the Commencement Participation Form was Friday, Feb. 19. Graduates who did not fill out the online form have been noted as “unable to attend" and will have their name announced as a virtual participant.

Tickets are required for all guests, ages three and over (at no charge). Live streaming of each ceremony will be available through Stetson Broadcast Productions. Please refer to the Schedule and Frequently Asked Questions pages for more details.

Commencement Ceremony Tickets

To ensure physical distancing guidelines are followed, graduates will have the opportunity to invite four guests to attend their in-person ceremony. We understand that our graduates may have more friends and family who want to celebrate in person, however, due to group size restrictions and physical distancing requirements, we are not able to offer our graduates more than four tickets each at this time. All ceremonies will be live streamed to allow family, friends, and fellow graduates to honor achievements from afar.

Updates regarding commencement tickets will be made to the commencement website, as well as by direct communication to participating graduates.

Graduate Check-In

Degree candidates are asked to arrive in regalia at The Sanborn Activity Center located at 815 S. Alabama Avenue. Specific times for arrival will be updated in conjunction with the schedule of ceremonies.

In preparation for the processional, graduates will be placed in alphabetical order by the degree they are receiving. All personal belongings must accompany you to the ceremony, so it is suggested to limit the number of items. Graduate assigned parking is located in Lot 9 & Lot 10, at the Sanborn Activity Center parking lot. Carpooling is recommended.

Faculty Participation

Faculty play an important role in the success of the commencement ceremony. It permits the community to recognize those who have contributed so greatly to the academic development and achievements of our graduates. All faculty are invited and encouraged to participate. Participating faculty are asked to arrive in regalia one hour prior to the start of the ceremony in which they are participating.

To ensure proper physical distance requirements, graduates, faculty and guests will be seated 6 feet apart. Faculty interested in participating will need to submit a formal reservation for attendance through the Faculty Participation Form.

The deadline to submit the Faculty Participation Form is Friday, Mar. 19. Faculty who do not submit a reservation via the online form will be considered “unable to attend”.

Faculty are asked to arrive in regalia at The Sanborn Activity Center located at 815 S. Alabama Avenue. Specific times for arrival will be updated in conjunction with the schedule of ceremonies. Faculty assigned parking is located in Lot 8, in the Department of Transportation parking garage, across the street from the Sanborn Activity Center (space is limited). Carpooling is recommended.

Ceremony Processional

Faculty and graduates will line up outside The Sanborn Activity Center to begin their procession twenty minutes prior to the start of each ceremony. The procession will walk down Alabama Avenue to Spec Martin Memorial Stadium where the platform party will join them. *Please note that access to the home side bleachers will be blocked from the South gate for 10-15 minutes to allow for procession access on the field.

As the procession enters Spec Martin Memorial Stadium, both faculty and graduates will be split into two lines for seating on the left or right side of the field. Graduates will be announced on stage in alphabetical order for the degree they are receiving regardless of their attendance in person.

Accessibility Services

The ceremony will be closed captioned and shown on the large screen adjacent to the stage. The Spec Martin Memorial Stadium is accessible to all guests with seating available on both the ground level and in the permanent bleachers. Accessible access for those unable to navigate stairs is through the South Gate on E. Hubbard Avenue.

Friends and Family

Guests with disabilities or health concerns will need to make a reservation in the tented seating on the grass surface behind the graduates (space is limited). Guests in this area will be allowed one companion to accompany them. Ushers will be available to guide guests to this location. Additional accessible seating is available in the bottom first row of the bleacher seating on both sides of the stadium.

The reservation form will become available during ticket distribution.

Commencement Parking Map

Please refer to the Commencement Parking Map for nearby parking locations as well as the Commencement Seating and Accessibility Map for directional information. Parking is on a first come, first served basis; parking in undesignated lots will be at your own risk.

Parking for persons with disabilities is available in Lot 5 on the corner of Hubbard and Alabama Avenues. Cars parked in this area are required to display a disabled parking permit.
