Law, Society and Advocacy
- Minor
Stetson's Law, Society and Advocacy minor explores the role of law in society through an interdisciplinary curriculum that combines liberal arts with hands-on legal experiences. Prepare for law school through Mock Trial, Moot Court, internships and the Floyd M. Riddick Model United States Senate while receiving guidance from Stetson's Pre-Law Advisory Committee.
Why Law, Society and Advocacy at Stetson University?
Stetson's Law, Society and Advocacy minor examines law through historical, philosophical and social perspectives while emphasizing the analytical reasoning, critical thinking and communication skills valued by law schools and legal employers. Rather than focusing solely on legal doctrine, you'll explore how law shapes, and is shaped by, society.
Classroom learning is reinforced through experiential opportunities, including Mock Trial, Moot Court, internships and the Floyd M. Riddick Model United States Senate. Supported by the Pre-Law Advisory Committee, you'll receive guidance on LSAT preparation, law school selection and the admissions process while building practical experience that strengthens your law school applications. Students can also combine this minor with Stetson's Business Law minor to develop complementary expertise in both legal theory and the legal foundations of business.
