Mission and Vision

Vision

The Department of Education's vision is to prepare ethical educators who promote change through leadership. The aim of the faculty is to develop creative and reflective practitioners capable of assuming leadership roles in culturally diverse educational settings. We prepare our candidates to initiate and sustain collaborative reform to meet the needs of the rapidly changing educational world.

Mission

It is our mission to:

• Educate teachers and administrators to act as competent, effective and knowledgeable facilitators of learning disposed to using technology and research practices to enhance K-12 education
• Create a community of learners responsive to the developmental and social needs of diverse learners
• Respond to learner needs and advocate for change at local through global level
