Thank you for the work you do to support students in their college search. We have compiled valuable information below about Stetson University and the admissions process to help assist counselors.
Stetson University's Counselor Fly-In and Drive-In programs are designed exclusively for high school counselors to experience our campus, academic programs, and community firsthand. These immersive visits offer valuable insight into the Stetson experience, helping counselors better guide and support their students throughout the college search process.
Each program is offered once a year. The Fly-In Program is intended for counselors located more than 250 miles from Stetson's DeLand campus, while the Drive-In Program is designed for counselors located within 250 miles.

Stetson University allows students to apply through our Stetson Application and the Common Application. Both are free. Stetson University is also a test-optional school. Visit our First-Year Admission Requirements webpage for more details.
To be considered for admission, applicants must satisfactorily complete a college preparatory program in high school. The Admissions Committee takes a holistic approach to admission and scholarships, with a strong emphasis on solid academic achievement throughout a student's high school career.

Investing in a quality education is a prudent decision, and applying for financial aid can help make that education a reality.
The first step is to apply to Stetson University, since no financial aid can be considered until a student has applied. Next, students fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which U.S. citizens and permanent residents use to determine demonstrated financial need for federal, state and institutional resources. Once a student is accepted, Stetson University prepares a financial aid package and contacts them directly.

The John B. Stetson Junior Award is a prestigious scholarship that supports high-achieving high school juniors in their pursuit of higher education at Stetson University. Valued at $35,000, the scholarship is contingent upon the recipient's enrollment at Stetson University in Fall 2028 and helps alleviate the financial burden of educational expenses, including textbooks and other essential school-related costs. The scholarship reflects Stetson University's commitment to recognizing and investing in the academic potential and future success of exceptional students.
Counselors, please nominate up to three students who will graduate in May 2028. The deadline to submit nominations is February 12, 2027.
Stetson University offers more than 100 academic programs across its four colleges and schools: the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business Administration, School of Music and College of Law. The university also serves the community through academics, camps, events and private lessons.
Stetson University's Premier Scholarships and Programs are our most competitive opportunities for incoming students, offering distinctive academic experiences and significant scholarship support to those who stand out.
These opportunities fall into two groups. Premier Programs, such as the Honors Program and the Bonner Program, give you a distinctive academic path and community. Premier Scholarships, several of which award full or substantial tuition support, recognize exceptional talent in areas including the creative arts, the humanities and creative writing. You may apply to more than one.
To be considered, a student must first submit their application to Stetson University, then complete a Premier Scholarships and Programs application through their Hatter Portal. The deadline for all Premier Scholarship and Program applications is December 1.
