The Honor Pledge
The Honor Pledge is the heart of the Honor System. It's a promise to abide by the highest standards of integrity and honesty in academic work. All incoming undergraduates affirm the following pledge during orientation.
Reaffirming the Honor Pledge
Following their having taken the pledge, undergraduates are asked to write the word "pledged" before their signature on examinations and assignments as a symbol of their ongoing commitment to the principles of the pledge.
Faculty and the Honor Pledge
Many instructors ask their students to sign copies of the Honor Pledge at the beginning of the term. A version of the Honor Pledge, which includes a signature block, is available for download:
