Meal Plan Selections and Pricing
Stetson University Dining Services knows the hectic life of a college student. It can be difficult to squeeze in a proper meal between classes and activities, but we're here to help. Our dining locations are near the residence halls and classrooms with hours that are convenient for our students. We understand that each student has different needs and eating habits. We have implemented a food nutrition analysis program, are offering more low-fat, vegetarian and vegan meals, created more flexibility with meal plans, and continue to maintain the highest level of quality food and customer service.
About Our Meal Plans
Stetson University Dining Services has several different meal plan options to best fit our students dining habits. It is important to remember factors like class schedule and eating habits (especially frequency and quantity). Plans will begin on the first day of classes and will end at final exams in each semester. There will be dates when meal plans are not in effect (nor will you be charged for them), such as holidays, which will be posted on the Dining Services website.

It’s important to understand your meal plan charges when changing or Opting Out of your meal plan after the term has started and prior to the Add/Drop date for the term. Updating your meal plan selection after the term starts will result in meal plan charges for each meal plan assigned during the term, based on the amount of time under each meal plan as outlined below.
The below ONLY applies when meal plans are changed after the term has begun. Refunds are not granted for non-usage at any time, including unused meal swipes or Hatterbucks at the end of the Fall/Spring semester. Adjusted charges and refunds for individual meal plans are determined by the type of plan (block plan or semester plan)
Block Meal Plans are prorated by usage:
- You will only be charged for the meals and HatterBucks used while the plan is assigned
- All unused meals and HatterBucks will be refunded to your student account
- Students requesting to move to a Block Plan during the add/drop period will be charged in full for the Block Plan selected regardless of the date the block plan is selected
Weekly Meal Plans are prorated on a weekly basis:
- Pro-rated charges and refunds for the semester meal plans are based on the date of cancellation/assignment within the refund schedule
- After the published Add/Drop date on the Academic Calendar, Meal plans can ONLY be upgraded.
Stetson University Dining Services offers meal plan selections to students with the option to exchange your meal swipe for a meal exchange at multiple locations on campus. All Stetson University Dining Plans offer a meal exchange. A meal exchange, for example, could consist of a sandwich and a fountain beverage OR a smoothie and a breakfast burrito, but varies at each location. Check the Dining Services website to view updated Menus, or check each location's menu below:
The meal plans also come with a predetermined amount of HatterBucks for the semester. One HatterBuck is equivalent to one dollar. These are spendable dollars that can be used in the Commons, Hat Rack (Einsteins Bagels and Hatter StrEats), Coffee Shop, The on-campus convenience store (located in the Bookstore), Pepsi vending machines on campus (located in Sage Hall, Chaudoin Hall, Emily Hall and Lynn Hall) and at the local off-campus Domino's and Jimmy John's restaurants. HatterBucks are tax exempt, saving you 6% for each transaction!
At the end of the Fall semester, any remaining HatterBucks will roll over to the Spring semester. At the end of the Spring semester any remaining HatterBucks will not roll over to the next academic term, nor are they refundable. Additional HatterBucks can be added at any time regardless of the plan selected. After the drop/add period for each semester, additional HatterBucks cannot be billed to the student account and must be added to the account using cash, check, or with Visa, Master Card, American Express, or Discover.
To activate your account for HatterBucks Add-Ons during the Summer term, please contact [email protected]. Kindly allow 24–48 hours for a response and for your account activation to be completed.
