Office of the Provost


The Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs is the Chief Academic Officer of the University and has responsibility for all the programs in the four constituent academic units of the institution: the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business Administration, the College of Law, and the School of Music. Additionally, the Provost has administrative responsibility for the duPont-Ball Library; Grants, Sponsored Research, and Strategic Initiatives; Boundless Learning; International Learning; Institutional Research; the Office of the Registrar; Student Success; and the various University Committees and Faculty Governance.

As vice president for academic affairs, Paul's responsibilities include:

  • Providing intellectual and administrative leadership of the faculty and academic support staff
  • Overseeing academic and curricular development and the assessment of student performance
  • Recruiting, orienting, developing and evaluating the faculty
  • Developing and administering the curriculum
  • Supervising the university's academic support programs
