Faculty Research

Heather Evans-Anderson, PhD
Adjunct Professor of the Department of Health Sciences
Heather Evans-Anderson, PhD, is using CRISPR — Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats — to study endothelial and cardiomyocyte cell interactions by genetically modifying an invertebrate organism to investigate the regulatory mechanisms of heart development. And, Evans-Anderson is doing it with the help of her students.

Jason Evans, PhD
Associate Professor of Environmental Science and Studies
Interim Executive Director, Stetson's Institute for Water and Environmental Resilience
Jason Evans, PhD, currently focuses his research on sea-level rise resulting from climate change — not only with an eye on the physical changes of the past, but also with a look ahead to the next several decades, including potential impacts to regional economies and population growth.

Roslyn Crowder, PhD
Assistant Professor and Molecular Biology Program Director
Roslyn Crowder, PhD, arrived at Stetson in fall 2013 after completing a postdoctoral fellowship, with her research focused on examining the molecular differences between human malignant cells and noncancerous normal cells. Today, Crowder remains busy on her own research while also helping students investigate the anticancer properties of plant extracts.
