Victoria Antwi
Research and Learning Librarian
Victoria is an Assistant Professor and serves as Research and Learning Librarian. As an academic librarian and educator, I am passionate about creating inclusive, student-centered learning experiences that empower individuals through information access and digital literacy. My work is rooted in a commitment to equity, ethical practice, and educational transformation - particularly for underserved and nontraditional learners.

Biography
With a background in information science, teaching, and legal studies, I bring a multidisciplinary perspective to instruction, research support, and outreach. I am especially interested in the intersections of media literacy, technology, and user engagement, and I strive to help students become critical thinkers and responsible users of information in a complex digital world.
At the core of my work is a deep belief in education as a tool for change. Whether in the classroom, at the reference desk, or through community programs, I aim to be a bridge between information and empowerment.
Victoria is originally from the Ashanti Region of Ghana. She holds a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a BA in Information Studies with a minor in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Ghana. She also pursued two years of postgraduate law study at Mountcrest University College in Accra.
Her professional background includes roles in academic libraries, teaching, instructional technology, and research support. She has taught and assisted in research at the University of Ghana and served as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Illinois. Victoria’s work focuses on information literacy, digital media, instructional design, and student-centered learning.
She is a Kufuor Scholar, a Commitment Maker at the Clinton Foundation, and an active volunteer. She also runs a YouTube channel - Victoria’s HelpDesk - where she shares academic support content.
Victoria’s interests include information literacy, library law and ethics, digital resources, and educational equity. She aspires to contribute to both library and legal education through teaching, research, and outreach.
