Biography

Jim Beasley joined the Stetson faculty in 1973 and spent 17 years teaching religious studies, during which time he was co-author of An Introduction to the Bible published by Abingdon Press. He has also published articles in several journals, including the William & Mary Quarterly. His developing research interest is in the area of changing conceptions of privacy and their impact on business activity.

In 1990, Beasley began a career in university administration and, over the next 21 years, served in several capacities, including senior vice president and chief operating officer. He oversaw legal affairs for the DeLand campus legal affairs for 15 years.

Returning to the full time faculty in 2011, Beasley began teaching BADM 209E Ethics and Law, a required course for undergraduate students in the School of Business Administration. He is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Mortar Board, Beta Gamma Sigma, the Society for Business Ethics and the Society for Corporate Compliance and Ethics. He also serves as the university's grievance officer.
