Bradley McKibben is Associate Professor and Chair in the Department of Counselor Education at Stetson University. He is passionate about preparing the next generation of counselors to serve with compassion, conviction, and clinical competence.

Biography
As a counselor educator, he seeks to foster a learning environment rooted in curiosity, critical reflection, and personal growth. His teaching is shaped by a belief that counseling is both a science and a sacred trust. Where knowledge meets kindness and theory meets the transformative power of relationship. He is committed to cultivating counselors who are thoughtful and tenacious, prepared to lead with wisdom, work with integrity, and walk with those they serve in times of struggle and strength.
McKibben, PhD, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, National Certified Counselor, Board Certified TeleMental Health Provider, certified Emotionally Focused Couple Therapist (EFCT), and certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator. He has clinical experience with individuals and couples and has worked in outpatient community mental health, inpatient psychiatric, cancer center, residential addiction treatment, and private practice settings.
McKibben’s research has been nationally recognized with the 2022 Supervision Award from the Association for Counselor Education & Supervision, 2019 American Counseling Association Research Award, and the 2018 Journal of Counselor Leadership and Advocacy Outstanding Article Award. From 2021-2025, he was the Editor-in-Chief for Teaching and Supervision in Counseling, the official journal for the Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. He has published over 25 journal articles and 7 book chapters, and he has delivered over 60 international, national, regional, state, and local conference presentations.

McKibben’s research interests include clinical outcomes in emotionally focused couple therapy, as well as the supervisory relationship, influences of attachment strategies, counselor development, and multicultural considerations in clinical supervision. McKibben employs a variety of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed method research approaches, and he regularly publishes about research methodologies, including “how to” journal articles and book chapters on various research paradigms. He is an expert in content analysis methodology.
