Asal Johnson, PhD

In teaching, I try to facilitate an environment of participation in the classroom where I moderate the discussion among the students. This process helps students learn how to effectively communicate, how to critically listen to different ideas and perspectives and how to agree and disagree respectfully. My course content emphasizes the importance of community engagement and real-world experience. Consistent with the teacher-scholar model at Stetson University I follow an ambitious and productive scholarship agenda where teaching and research inform one another in an ongoing process.
