NBHI Leadership Center

The Nina B. Hollis Educational Leadership Center supports district and school leaders at all levels of P-12 education. The Center provides customized professional development that enhances leadership skills focused on improving school climate and culture, teacher agency and empowerment, and building trauma-informed restorative practices in schools that support teacher and student success.

The research supporting the connections between school climate and culture, and student achievement along with teacher job satisfaction is clear. Our Nina B. Hollis Educational Leadership Center faculty are experienced university scholars with significant P-12 education leadership experience who are certified in Restorative Practices and Trauma-Informed Coaching.

Our Professional Development-NBHI Leadership Center serves as a site trainer for Restorative Practices as well as Trauma-Informed Coaching. We have designed a unique program that combines the tenets of Restorative Practices and Trauma-Informed Coaching (R/TIC).  We house a cadre of trainers who can provide school and district-wide training in R/TIC or just Restorative Practices. We also offer a school/district-wide fidelity tool that examines your school culture and climate.

In addition to providing school districts and individual schools, training opportunities ranging from half-day training to multi-day trainings spread throughout the academic year, the Center also offers yearly symposiums on key issues facing schools today.

Services

The center began hosting leadership symposiums in the summer of 2019 and it was the plan to annually provide a symposium on pressing educational leadership topics. The pandemic halted those plans, however, there are plans to resume in the Fall of 2024.
