Justin Grubb

Assistant Professor of Studio Art

Justin Quaid Grubb is an artist and Assistant Professor of Studio Art at Stetson University. Utilizing ceramics as his primary medium, establishing queerness as a precursor to innovation is the central focus of his research and practice. His practice has evolved to challenge the bounds of this medium deeply rooted in craft tradition, by suggesting a reformation or expansion of traditional categorizations and definitions in the field through the study and visual application of queer theory. Grubb employs an autobiographical and sociological approach to making, which highlights connection to material and uncovers cultivating authenticity as the primary objective.
