Anna Small is the Chief Compliance Officer at Nemours Children’s Heath, a non-profit pediatric health system providing care in Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida. She is responsible for ensuring compliance with the healthcare laws and regulations applicable to the Nemours system. Anna had prior experience as a chief compliance officer at Shriners Hospitals for Children, an international pediatric health system. One of Anna’s accomplishments at Shriners was to implement a compliance program in the organization’s hospital in Mexico City, where 6,000 orthopedic surgeries are performed annually at no cost to the patients and their families.

Prior to moving into the field of compliance, Anna spent ten years working as a healthcare regulatory attorney. Her area of legal expertise includes the regulation of healthcare facilities and the licensure of individual healthcare professionals. Anna has been a member of the Florida Bar since 2005 and attended Florida State University College of Law. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Anna practiced as a Certified Nurse Midwife and still holds an active license as an advanced practice nurse. Anna's professional passions include improving access to health care, children’s and women's health issues, and international health.
