If your U.S. institutions utilize a system called Parchment, you can directly order your official transcripts through them and have them sent to LSAC. If your US institution doesn’t utilize Parchment, you will have to follow the instructions provided by their Registrar on how to acquire them.

Physical transcripts that are mailed to LSAC must be received in a sealed envelope from the institution with a stamp over the sealed envelope flap to be accepted as official. Foreign transcripts must be sent as original as well as a translated copy in English.

Applicants will receive an email confirming receipt of their application and notice of any missing items or if additional information is needed to process the application. All decisions will be communicated via email. Decisions are not released by phone, except for US military personnel stationed abroad.

Once admitted, a non-refundable deposit of $500 is required to reserve your seat. Please note the seat deposit deadline and instructions for remitting payment on your letter of acceptance. This deposit will be credited to your tuition upon registration.

First, make sure you place your deposit as soon as possible so we can begin the next steps of setting up your student account. After your deposit is placed, the office will be in touch with your student account information, including a temporary password that you will change upon first use.

Note your orientation date and times. International Law and Environmental Law orientation takes place on campus before the start of the semester. Advocacy and Elder Law orientations will take place online the week prior to the start of the semester. Please meet with your Program Director to discuss your course options and schedule for your first semester.

People in Florida drive even for short distances (it can get really hot.) Most LLM students, however, do not have a car and use public busses, uber/lyft, or ask friends or their Stetson Law Buddy for a ride. Many essentials that students may need (grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants) are within walking or biking distance (less than 2 miles away.) The public bus system reaches further destinations such as Tyrone Mall or downtown St. Petersburg.

Stetson University College of Law has more than 50 student organizations and sports teams in which students can be involved. The Student Organization Fair usually takes place in September. Students can sign up there or contact the members of each club or association to learn more.

Stetson University is comprised of four campuses in Florida, spread out in different cities: Deland, Celebration, Gulfport, and Tampa. The Stetson College of Law main campus is in Gulfport, with a satellite location in downtown Tampa. All law classes take place in Gulfport and Tampa. Law students do not take classes on Deland or Celebration campuses.

Stetson Law's campus is quite small but includes all the necessities; classrooms, courtrooms, the law library, a book shop, a café that serves Starbucks, dorms, laundry facilities, a swimming pool, a gym, student lounge for cooking and playing billiards, among other amenities.

There is a café on campus serving breakfast and lunch, open from Monday to Saturday during fall and spring semesters. They also have some grab-and-go items for a quick snack or beverage. Students can also purchase their own food and prepare it in the student lounge, which includes a full-size refrigerator, microwave, oven, and stovetop. Pots and pans are shared among students.

Gulfport is a small artist community on Boca Ciega Bay. Students often go to Gulfport Beach (only 2 miles away) for local festivals, play beach volleyball, eat dinner or go shopping, bicycling, walking, or fishing.

The closest beach to campus is Gulfport Beach, which is located 2 miles from campus on Boca Ciega Bay. This beach is not used for swimming. However, many people walk, play volleyball, and enjoy the shops and restaurants along the beachfront.

Popular beaches close to campus include:

  • St. Pete Beach – 3.4 miles – 8 min. by car / 30 min. by bus / 19 min. by bike / 70 min. by foot
  • Pass-a-Grille – 6.4 miles – 19 min. by car / 40 min. by bus / 33 min. by bike / 2 hours by foot
  • Madeira Beach – 6.7 miles – 17 min. by car / 50 min. by bus / 35 min. by bike / 2 hours by foot
  • Treasure Island – 4.1 miles – 12 min. by car / 60 min. by bus / 20 min. by bike / 75 min. by foot
