Free Certifications for Students

Our certifications program enables Stetson students to complete nationally recognized certifications in a wide range of areas for FREE thanks to the support of generous alumni like Susan Perry Brockway, Class of '79! 

In today's competitive job market, where employers receive numerous applications for each position, certifications help candidates stand out from other applicants. These credentials serve as tangible evidence of skills and knowledge acquired through formal education and practical experience, offering employers a reliable benchmark for evaluating candidates. Certifications also often open doors to new opportunities, enabling individuals to advance their careers, access higher-paying roles, and stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements. 

Basic Life Support (BLS) Issued by AdventHealth: BLS trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an AED. 

Human Resources Issued by HR Certification Institute®: An HRCI certification distinguishes you as an expert in the HR field, with proven levels of skills and knowledge, and the competence necessary to mitigate risks and drive business results.  

Mental Health First Aid Issued by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing: This course teaches learners how to identify, understand, and respond to signs or symptoms of mental health or substance use challenges. Decrease stigma, address tough challenges, and make a positive difference in the lives of those around you by getting certified. 

Microsoft Office

  • Microsoft Specialist
  • Microsoft Excel (Associate and Expert): Through this training, participants will have a fundamental understanding of the Excel environment. Demonstrating their ability to apply the main features of the program, such as: creating and managing worksheets, workbooks, cells, ranges, and tables, applying formulas and functions, and creating charts and objects. 
  • Power BI: This exam measures participants' ability to accomplish the following technical tasks: prepare the data, model the data, visualize and analyze the data, and deploy solutions.

Music and Sound Healing Issued through the University of Central Florida: After completing this course, participants will be able to describe music therapy and sound healing and their effects on the brain, at the end of life, and with specific health conditions such as Alzheimer's disease.

Phlebotomy Issued by the Northwest Phlebotomy School: This course is a unique blend of lectures and labs to get you experienced with a variety of venipuncture techniques. Their program will prepare you for placement in a new career by learning safety practices in the phlebotomy field, exposing you to a variety of patient demographics, and coaching you one-on-one in a small group setting. 

Python Issued by Pearson: This certification shows that the individual is familiar with universal computer programming concepts like data types, containers, functions, conditions, loops, as well as Python programming language syntax, semantics, and the runtime environment. 

Employing Abilities at Work Certificate Issued by SHRM Foundation: The Employing Abilities at Work certificate is a multi-faceted program with the actionable knowledge and tools HR professionals, people managers and business leaders need to recruit, hire, and retain individuals with disabilities.
