Biography

She is currently working with the Interim Associate Director and director of Public Services, to further promote and develop Stetsons Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), Bridging the Gap: Enhancing Information Literacy. The duPont-Ball Library's direct involvement in the QEP profoundly affects the acquisition and development of students' critical thinking and information literacy skills.

As someone who works very closely with people, specifically students, Kellie's research interests lie within the affective domain, related to scholarly research and library anxiety. She is interested in the student experience of the research process in higher education. How do the requirements and expectations of research tasks coupled with the complicated nature of the information landscape, all in an academic setting, impact the emotions of students? What are the causes of these emotions, and how can libraries mitigate poor learning outcomes and overall research anxieties?

Kellie continually applies her growing knowledge of this topic to her everyday practice at the duPont-Ball Library. Kellie is a DeLand, Florida native and Stetson alumna (10) with a background in public education and has been in academic libraries since 2019. She sees her work in libraries as having a positive impact on her local community. Kellie is a member of the American Library Association ( ALA), Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL), Florida Association of College & Research Libraries (FACRL), and the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA).
