Biography

Dr. Fran Duvall has worn many hats in the education field: paraprofessional, teacher, principal and university professor. Before her retirement from Seminole County Public Schools, Dr. Duvall was principal of four elementary schools during her career. Three of the four schools were designated as Title 1 schools. Through collaboration with her staffs, she raised the grades of those schools from C to A and maintained the A at her last school for 10 years.

Dr. Duvall opened Wicklow Elementary in Sanford from construction to hiring staff to establishing traditions and setting the climate of the school. Dr. Duvall taught education courses at the University of Central Florida for 12 years before accepting the current position at Stetson in 2013.

Being a lifelong learner, Dr. Duvall recently completed a degree in legal studies at Seminole Community College, allowing her to claim the title of paralegal. She infuses ethics and the law into education courses she teaches and delivers a law seminar to senior interns each semester.
