Why I Chose Stetson:

I’ve been familiar with Stetson University for over a DECADE! Since I was in elementary school, I took part in Stetson’s HATS Program, which allowed elementary-level students to take fun “classes” on campus. Some of my favorites included forensics and chromatography! Ever since I first stepped on campus over ten years ago I was hooked. Even going through high school and the college search I always knew Stetson was the right place for me, despite touring schools big and small, and in and out of state.

Involvements on Campus:

Student Ambassadors, Lambda Chi Alpha, Sport Business Association, Rinker Global Scholars

What I Like to Do on Weekends:

I dedicate half my weekends to work and the other half to either fun or relaxation. I work at Publix to make some extra money and they allow me to work around my class schedule. On days of the weekend when I don’t work, I love to spend time with my closest friends, whether it be going to the beach, playing video games through the night, or participating in fun brotherhood events with my fraternity! But sometimes I just like to relax and catch up on some sleep!

My Favorite Class at Stetson:

My favorite classes at Stetson have been any of my philosophy courses with Dr. DiQuattro! I have taken three courses with Dr. DiQuattro during my time at Stetson and I have loved every class more than the last. My favorite class of his has to be Aesthetics. Dr. DiQuattro has an intense passion for what he teaches and it translates to a desire to come to class, participate and be happy about doing it. His energy is unmatched and if you ever end up taking a class of his, you won’t be disappointed!

Advice to Prospective Students:

Get involved but don’t burn yourself out! There are going to be times when you’re stressed! Don’t spend all of your time stressing about classes, midterms, or finals. I know that’s easier said than done but it’s imperative! Getting involved on campus, whether it be club sports, greek life, student ambassadors (wink, wink), or any of our 140+ student-led organizations, is a great way to make friends and create connections! They can also be fantastic stress relievers.

Favorite Place on Campus:

My favorite place on campus is the Hollis Center! Going to the gym is not only a hobby for me, but it’s a huge stress reliever and a lifestyle. I’m in the gym five days a week, so the Hollis Center is pretty much my second home. The atmosphere is amazing and the people who are in the gym with you are even better. There are people who support and motivate you every step of the way, and I’ve made some of my closest friends in between sets.
