Jaimy Cotto De Jesús
Hometown: Guayama, Puerto Rico
Major: Marketing; Professional Sales
Class Year: 2027
Why I Chose Stetson:
I was the first in my family to graduate high school and the first to attend college. It wasn’t easy to figure everything out, and even with my mother’s support, getting started felt overwhelming. Thankfully Stetson reached out to me, and the admissions staff guided me through the process with warmth and care. My recruiter, Shannon Greeley, especially made me feel supported and helped me find my home away from home.
Involvements on Campus:
Student Ambassadors, Admissions Assistant, Marketing Designer, Rotaract - Secretary
What I Like to Do on Weekends:
I love editing and while it is my job as a Marketing Designer, it’s so fun. But I love hobbies, I have like a thousand. So just ask me what my hobby of the week is! I don’t bite.
My Favorite Class at Stetson:
I really loved Professional Selling and Communication or Sales 230. This class made me realize a skill I didn’t even know I had. And if you want a class that will get your out that shell, this is that class. Dr. Hale will bring out your voice for sure!
Advice to Prospective Students:
Make a list of what you need from a university not just as a student but a person. Then rank them in order of importance. For me, Stetson hit all the boxes! Maybe it will for you too.
Favorite Place on Campus:
I would typically say my room is I decorated it so well and my cat is there waiting for me. But I truly also move (maybe a little more) the Cross Cultural Center! It’s a cozy space to study, hang out, and they even have a kitchen. I won’t lie I’ve even fallen asleep in the bean bags a few times. It’s too cozy not too especially after eating when they host food events!
