After You Apply

Thank you for your interest in employment with Stetson University College of Law. Due to the volume of applications we receive, we are unable to respond to each individual applicant. Because phone calls and e-mails to check the status of your application are discouraged, let us take this opportunity to explain how our hiring processes works.

For Staff Positions

You have submitted your application and/or resume via on-line, via mail, via fax, or in person. We receive and process the applications and/or resumes. Qualified candidates who are selected for an interview are contacted directly by Stetson University College of Law.

For Full-Time Faculty Positions

With full-time and visiting faculty positions, your information is given to the Appointments Committee. Unless a posted vacancy is available, no action is typically taken on an application. Full-time and Visiting Faculty vacancies are also recruited through the American Association of Law Schools recruitment process, so you are encouraged to apply through that process. For more information, see the AALS web page for Faculty Recruitment Services.

For Adjunct Faculty Positions

Initial screening for adjunct faculty is completed by the Associate Dean of Academics. Adjunct faculty positions remain on continuous recruitment due to changes in our curricular needs. Unless your qualifications and interest match our curricular needs, no action is typically taken on an application. Decisions on the hiring of adjunct faculty are typically made six to nine months before the start of the semester in which the individual would be assigned to teach.
