Australian Exchange Program - Academic Program

Stetson University College of Law and Victoria University partnered in 2012 to offer educational, professional, and cultural opportunities to their students through an exchange program for both students and faculty. Stetson Law students can participate in this unique semester exchange opportunity in their second year of law school.

Academic Performance

Victoria University's academic requirements for the exchange program are the achievement of a 2.5-grade point average on a scale of 4 or equivalent.

Stetson students may participate in the exchange program in their second year of study.

Value of Units

Credit equivalents for a semester of full-time study:

Victoria University: 48 credits Stetson: 12-15 credits

Selecting Your Units

When you select your units, be aware that some have specific prerequisites or other entry requirements. You can check the prerequisites of any units you nominate by visiting: www.vu.edu.au/courses.

You are required to nominate six units in order of preference. These units must be approved by your home institution and once you have arrived at VU you will be enrolled in a minimum of three units, to a maximum of four or five units. Four units are the normal full-time study load.

Course Schedules

Some units may not be available for the semester you wish to study. Current timetables are available each semester at VU, refer to current timetables (see link below) as an indication of which units will be available.

Timetables will be available in November for the first semester of the following year (late February - early June).

Credit Transfer

Credits earned at Victoria University will be reflected as transfer credits at Stetson and will not affect the grade point average. Stetson students will be awarded transfer credit as per the Stetson Transfer Credit Policy.

Students in 2020 and 2021

No students participated in the Victoria University exchange program during 2020 or 2021 due to concerns over the COVID-19 virus.
