Meet the Environmental Fellows
Jada Thompson
Major: Biology on the Pre-Law Track
Class of 2030
Jada is from Sanford, Florida and has a deep interest in mangrove biomes. As a Florida resident the crucial role mangroves play in limiting the adverse effects of hurricanes such as managing storm surges sparked her desire to raise awareness about their importance and help build support to protect them.
As a fellow, she hopes to raise awareness of the services provided by the local environment that many may not be aware of to help foster a community of environmentally cautious people.
Elisa Familia
Major: Business Systems and Analytics
Class of 2028
As an Environmental Fellow, she hopes to contribute to the representation of the Kindness Value by the Hatter community by developing campus-wide tools that facilitate the “Think Before You Throw” culture of waste.
Nora Hanson
Major: Environmental Studies
Class of 2028
Nora is an Environmental Studies major at Stetson University with a minor in Marketing. She began working with the Environmental Fellows at the start of her junior year and is passionate about finding ways to make sustainability more accessible and engaging to others. As a Fellow, she hopes to help preserve the beauty of Stetson’s campus while finding innovative ways to make it more sustainable.
Nora plans to use her background in marketing to reach a wider audience and encourage more people to take part in sustainability efforts. After college, she hopes to make an impact in the business world by helping companies adopt more sustainable practices and becoming a leader in sustainability consulting.
