Multicultural Student Council
The Multicultural Student Council (MSC) aims to foster a dynamic and inclusive student environment that cultivates continual learning, leadership skills, and intercultural understanding. Through thought-provoking programming and access to essential resources, we empower students to become effective advocates for themselves, their peers, and the broader campus community. By fostering collaborative partnerships, the MSC equips students with the tools and knowledge to drive positive change and become agents of social good, working towards a more just and equitable world.

The Multicultural Student Council envisions a campus community where all students, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds, feel empowered, valued, and equipped to advocate for themselves and positive change.
The main goal is to create events that accurately represent and celebrate the many cultures the student population represents. Some additional goals include:
- Provide cultural programming on campus
- Provide support for the Multicultural Student Council organizations
- Create partnerships within the Stetson Community
-
Welcome 2 Culture is an annual event held at the beginning of each academic year where students can meet the multicultural organizations on campus, learn about their cultures and communities, and discover ways to get involved.
-
Open Book is a semesterly speaker and panel series that explores topics related to culture, identity, leadership, and the perse experiences of our community. Each event features different speakers and themes, creating space for students to learn from and engage in meaningful conversations.
-
Taste of the World is one of MSC’s largest events of the year, bringing together multicultural organizations for a celebration of food and culture. Organizations share foods from their cultures, while students travel from table to table to sample different dishes and experience a “taste of the world” all in one place.
-
Multicultural Celebration & Sankofa is our annual end-of-year celebration honoring the contributions and achievements of MSC’s multicultural organizations and graduating students. The event includes awards recognizing organizations and their work throughout the year, as well as the presentation of multicultural stoles to graduating students. It is MSC’s largest and most anticipated events of the year.
