Stetson University HATS Program
HATS Summer Program
HATS stands for High Achieving Talented Students and is a three dimensional, year-round, academic enrichment program sponsored by Stetson University's Office of Boundless Learning. Working in collaboration with the Belin-Blank International Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development at the University of Iowa, the Office of Boundless Learning provides outstanding educational opportunities for high-achieving students in the state of Florida. Students are encouraged to register for a class based on their strengths and area of interest. Classes are not intended for remediation.
Eligibility for Participation
Each year, Florida students, including gifted and homeschoolers, in grades K-12 who have scored at or above the 95th percentile on any subject of any standardized test are invited to participate in HATS.
Students in grades four through nine who are members of the Belin-Blank Exceptional Student Talent Search (BESTS) are also invited.
Once a student has qualified, he or she does not have to re-qualify, but is eligible to continue participating in HATS. You must submit documentation that your child qualifies with your initial registration.
Stetson University works with various school districts to identify eligible students. If you believe you or someone you know is eligible to participate, but has not been notified by Stetson University or by the Belin-Blank Center, please contact us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. We encourage all eligible students, including homeschooled students and students attending private schools, to participate in HATS.
