Research

Introduction

An undergraduate culture that is shaped by an environment focused on research is creating new distinctiveness and intellectual vibrancy at Stetson.

For students, the university's mission is to provide an excellent education in a creative community where learning and values meet. That commitment to a transformative experience is reflected in the requirement that every undergraduate student must complete a Senior Project under the guidance of a faculty member — a culminating experience of the learning journey at Stetson.

For faculty, along with teaching and fostering professional citizenship among students, the areas of primary responsibility also include research/creative inquiry. Faculty place high value on continuous intellectual and creative inquiry as part of the students' learning process, with an emphasis on the Boyer Model — discovery, integration, application and teaching.
