Anne Edmunds Aguirre is a passionate student-centered educator with 30 years of college empowerment experience. She believes that an educated citizenry is the key to the betterment of society. Her professional career spans the student lifecycle from high school to college to graduate school, serving educational institutions in Nashville, St. Louis, San Antonio, Chattanooga, and Dallas. Originally from New Orleans, Aguirre took a gap year to study at Clifton College in Bristol, England. She holds a BA in Math and an MEd in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University, and an EdD in Higher Education Administration from The University of Alabama. She currently lives in Nashville where she serves as the Associate Director of College Counseling at Father Ryan High School.

For over 25 years, Aguirre has been an active participant in the selection process for the J. Ollie Edmunds Scholarship program, named in honor of her grandfather, Stetson’s 4th president and first chancellor. She enjoys keeping up with Edmunds Scholars after they leave Stetson.

Aguirre was elected to serve on the Board of Trustees in 2026. She is a Sustaining member of the Junior League and spends much of her free time baking and birding.
