HOLLIS POOL LANDSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS

Hollis Center: The Heart of Student Wellness

The Hollis Center has long stood as a cornerstone of student life at Stetson University. Originally opened in 1998 through a generous gift from the Hollis family, the facility was envisioned as a central hub for fitness, recreation and health on campus. Over the years, the Hollis Center has served thousands of students—offering a space to recharge, stay active and connect with one another.

Setting the Stage for the Future of Stetson

Today’s college students—especially the incoming Gen Z and Alpha generations—are placing unprecedented value on mental wellness, vibrant campus communities and accessible recreational spaces. In a state like Florida, where sunshine is abundant and outdoor living is a way of life, schools that lean into this advantage rise to the top. At Stetson, we’re seizing this opportunity through a comprehensive reimagining of the Hollis Center Pool and you can be a lasting part of it

Reimagine a Campus Landmark

  • Fund major aesthetic and landscape upgrades:

decorative brick piers, evergreen planters, turf and

    modern fencing.

  • Transform the pool into a visually stunning

centerpiece, highly visible from the new Residence

Hall and a key stop on campus tours.

  • Create a space that reflects the excellence and

    warmth of the Stetson experience.

Promote Wellness, Connection and Belonging

  •  Give students a beautiful, accessible space for

    swimming, exercise and stress relief.

  • Foster social connections and campus traditions in a relaxed, inclusive environment.

  • Offer on-campus jobs through lifeguard and facility

roles, supporting student leadership and employment.

Help Recruit and Retain Future Hatters

Position Stetson as a school that invests in the full student
experience.

Use the upgraded pool as a powerful tool to attract new
students—especially those drawn to active, wellness-focused
lifestyles.

Leverage the pool’s proximity to the new Residence Hall to
drive usage, visibility and impact.

Establish a Lasting Legacy

With your generous support, the revitalized Hollis Center Pool can carry your name—or the name of someone meaningful to you—in perpetuity. This is a rare opportunity to place your legacy at the heart of student life on one of the most cherished and visible spaces on campus.
